You are applying to be a contestant on a Reality TV show "Travel Survivor". As part of the application process Producers of the show want to see a presentation of your travel plans. You will need to make a short presentation using Power Point software. If your presentation is good enough you will join up with 3 other contestants to form a team to spend $10,000 Aus each to travel the world.
On August 25th, you'll be meeting with the producers. They want to see at least one slide for each of the following areas. The Producers have alot of specific things that they want to see before they write the cheque ($ 10,000 Aus) , so it's time to get to work!!!
- Create a folder in your H: ( Home) drive titled "Travel Survivor" to store all your information needed to complete this project.
- Using the Internet, Resources and PowerPoint create a slide show including the following information
Time
- 1 month holiday: September to October
Destination
- You have to visit at least 4 countries
- Where are you going?
- Why did you choose these countries?
- What are the countries like in general?
Airfare /Accomodations
- What flight will you be taking?
- HINT: Remember you don't have to fly between each country! You can use buses, trains, hire car, its cheaper!
- What accommodation will you be staying at?
Vacation Plans
- Where will you go when you get there?
- How will you be spending your days?
- Name 3-5 places or attractions for each country that you will be visiting.
Before You Leave
- What types of things will you be buying before you leave?
- What will you pack in your bag?
- How about a passport? Cost of Visas?
- Immunization Shots?
Accountant's Report
Have you ever had a vacation that lasted longer than your money? Unless money is no object, budgeting the amount you will need to spend on transportation, meals, lodging and recreation is the first step in creating a successful trip
- Using Excel design a Spreadsheet of how the $10,000 will be spent.
- List your expenses for each day. Include the amount you plan to spend for meals, lodging, transportation* (such as taxis, trains, buses, or rental cars), and recreation* (such as admission fees to museums or other attractions, as well as any souvenirs you plan to buy).
- List the cost of your round trip airline ticket.
- What are the Exchange Rates for the Australian Dollar?
- Add all of your expenses for a grand total cost of your trip.
Congratulations you have been selected as a participant on the Reality TV
show Travel Survivor. You and 3 other lucky contestants will each receive
$10,000 Aus to travel to 4 countries of your choice. So pack your bags grab
your passport and get traveling.
Process
The Reality TV show Travel Survivor requires you to use your information gathered in Task 1 to create a website (Blog) and Movie to recount your adventures. You can use your information gathered in task one to help you complete your task.

- Use the following software to create a website: FrontPage, Photostory, Photoshop, Flash,
- Using the Internet collect photographs of interesting places from the countries that you are visiting. Take photographs of you and your group that you can use to cut and paste into these photographs. Use these photographs to create a website and Movie of your travels.
- Create written weekly Recounts / blogs of your travels.
- Using Flash create an animated map to show your route.
